About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant Filipino community, Bacolod Chicken House offers an authentic and heartwarming Filipino dining experience that feels like a welcome homecoming. Specializing in traditional Filipino cuisine, this cozy restaurant at 6320 N Lincoln Ave beckons both newcomers and longtime fans of the cuisine with its rich, bold flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere.

Bacolod Chicken House is widely celebrated for its standout dishes that truly showcase the depth of Filipino culinary heritage. A must-try is the Batchoy, a deeply comforting noodle soup that has earned glowing reviews for its rich, savory broth—so authentic that it transports you straight to its Iloilo origins. The tender chicken, perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, harmonizes beautifully with their heavenly garlic rice, creating a meal that is both satisfying and soul-stirring.

If you’re dining with a group or looking to indulge in a feast, the Salo Salo Platter is an impressive highlight. Designed to serve four guests, this generous spread features a mini batchoy, crispy krispy pata, chicken insal, and grilled pork and fish. The platter is not only a celebration of flavors but an experience in itself—complete with a communal vibe that invites you to share stories over scrumptious bites.

Side dishes here are equally tempting. From the crispy camote fries with their subtle sweetness, to the fluffy and slightly sweet puto rice flour cakes, every choice complements the main plates perfectly. And no Filipino meal is complete without dessert—be sure to save room for their jumbo Halo Halo, a delightful mixed dessert packed with layers of textures and flavors that refresh and satisfy, perfect for sharing.

Guests consistently praise the restaurant’s attentive and friendly staff, who go the extra mile to guide diners unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine, explaining sauces and menu options with genuine warmth and patience. This thoughtful service, paired with quick kitchen turnaround, ensures a relaxed yet vibrant dining experience where you feel both cared for and excited about what’s coming next.

Whether you’re craving a traditional boodle fight feast, which embraces eating with your hands and communal enjoyment, or a quieter dinner savoring classic dishes like dinuguan (a rich pork blood stew), Kare Kare, and egg rolls, Bacolod Chicken House invites you to immerse yourself in Filipino flavors that are bold, comforting, and exquisitely well-crafted. It’s no surprise that diners are eager to return with family and friends, eager to share these treasured tastes and the uplifting ambiance that makes every visit memorable.

We had a great boodle feast experienced! Good for 5 person, charges $25 per person. The turon (plantain banana) is divine! You have to call for reservation and arrived on time. We will definitely be back with friends and families!

The Batchoy (hope I spelled it correctly) was extremely delicious. My wife is from Iloilo and we looked all over town for it and she says it is very similar to what she has in the Phillipines. I had it and it tasted really good. I also had the chicken (Paav I think) and garlic rice and was delicious. Will definitely be back for sure.

My husband and I invited our friends to dine in this homey Filipino Restaurant. Authentic Filipino Dishes! We enjoyed the platter which is good for 4 people. The Dinuguan , kare kare , egg rolls snd kaderetang kambing is scrumptious! You want desserts? Try their jumbo sized Halo Halo! One order can share with 4 people! Halo Halo is tagalog for MIXED. It is a popular dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, milk, leche flan and a lot of sweet fillings! Must try it! btw kudos to the staff who are so so friendly!! Thanks for the birthday greeting!! Appreciate you all

I only came here once awhile ago and we had a group going for the boodle fight. When some of us got there at our reservation time, they had the table partially prepared. They need everyone from our party to arrive, so that they can prepare the whole table. You eat with your hands. It was rice, different kinds of meat and seafood, etc. They also brought us halo halo and like dessert egg rolls (forgot the name). Price per person wasn’t too bad. I left full and satisfied. We found free parking either by the restaurant or one of the side streets. The staff was very nice and attentive.

The staff here is so nice and friendly with explaining the different sauces and menu options. Our group was not familiar with anything on the menu and the staff patiently answered all our questions. We ordered the salo salo platter for 4 people and we all left so satisfied. Food came out very quickly. The presentation was perfect and all the food was cooked and seasoned well. The food is definitely all heavily salted and rich but it balanced so well with the vinegar-based sauces provided. We will definitely come back to try the boodle fight with a larger group

Authentic Filipino dishes. Generous servings. Batchoy is really delicious and they have a vast selection of appetizers and entree. Balut is also available if you're craving for one and the place is spacious with really pretty Filipino fiesta decors. Must visit for Filipinos living in Chicago

The boodle-boodle caught our eye, and we ordered this festive feast for Mothers Day. It’s proportioned for 5 but there’ll be plenty to share + leftovers. Must order the feast 24 in advance! Absolutely worth it. My mom enjoyed it so much that we came back the next week and I got to try their halo-halo. Love their version, huge portion, also plenty to share. Excellent, kind and attentive service each time. Clean, cozy, colorful environment. No parking lot but street parking in front of the building and around the block is reasonably available.

Drove over an hour from Plainfield just to try this place. It was worth the drive. All the food we got was delicious. Definitely try their signature dishes. We'll definitely be back.
